Let us make it a worthwhile Ramadan this Year
Bismillahi Rahman Roheem.
All Praise is for Allah. We adore Him and seek His help and forgiveness. We have Faith and Trust in Him. We seek Allah’s refuge against evil tendencies of our Selves and our bad deeds.
He whom Allah guides no one can lead him astray. And he whom Allah lets go astray there is none to guide him. We bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, the One and without any Partner; and we also bear witness that Muhammad (SAW) is His servant and Messenger., Allah had sent him with Truth, to give good tidings and to warn before the Doomsday. Whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger will be successful and well guided.
And whosoever disobeys either of them has gone astray. Such a person harms none save himself, he does no harm to Allah. The best Word is the Book of Allah. And the best Guidance is that given by Muhammad (SAW). Good things are the firm (original) ones, and Bad things are those introduced later on. And everything introduced later (in religion) is innovation. And every innovation is Hell fire.
Now then, I seek Allah’s refuge against Satan the outcast. I start in the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Merciful. Allah, in His Glorious Book, says,
"O Believers, when a call is given for Friday prayers then hurry up for Allah’s remembrance, leaving aside all business. This is better for you if you knew it.
Then, when the prayer is finished disperse in the land to seek Allah’s Favours (livelihood); and keep on remembering Allah frequently so that you may succeed. When these people see a trade opportunity or a sportive event they walk towards it, leaving you (Prophet) standing alone. Tell them that what (reward) is with Allah is better than sport or trade, and Allah is the best Provider of livelihood".
The Noble month is fast approaching and we shall remind each other of Surah Al-Baqara (The Cow) Chapter 2: Verse 183
"O Believers, Fasting (sawm) has been prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may attain Taqwa (God-consciousness)"
This important announcement begins by addressing believers directly to remind them of who they are and of their status with God. God is aware that for believers to fulfil any religious obligation, regardless of its immediate benefits, they need encouragement and motivation. Hence they are addressed by their essential quality of having faith.
The verse establishes that fasting had been made obligatory for all believers, past, present and future, and that the aim behind it is to open their hearts to God and make them more conscious and fearful of Him. Therefore, the principal objective of fasting is to attain and refine this quality of Taqwa. Fasting, when observed in obedience to Allah, and in pursuit of His pleasure, instills and revives Taqwa in the human heart and acts as a safeguard against evil and wrongdoing.
For the Ummah (world-community) of Islam, whose duty is to undertake a campaign of struggle (Jihad), as a means of establishing God's universal order of mercy, peace, and justice, and who is to stand witness to the rest of mankind, it is only natural that fasting should be made obligatory.
Fasting is a means of testing a person's determination and will-power, and an important aspect of his or her relationship with Allah. It is a discipline that teaches one how to rise above his or her physical needs, urge, desires and overcome the pressure of temptation in order to earn Allah's blessings and reward in full.
All other worship is for every man's upliftment spiritually in life as a means to an End while Ramadan is being is for Allah only Allah will reward you.
However Ramadan isn't the Month of Fasting alone because how would you justify your fast and yet you are engage in vain talks, backbiting, and Gossips. You do not let go lies and deceit in your activities.
Ramadan is a month of seeking Tawassul(Nearness,Closeness)to Allah.Fasting is a means to an End,Prayer is a means to an End; Zakat is a means to an End,Reciting the Qur'an is a means to an End; Taqwa is a means to an End; Giving Thanks to Allah and zhikr is a means to an End; Guidance and our actions are means to an End; Which END are we talking about here, that is Paradise or Hell.
The purpose is your intention must be for Allah, and Allah alone. Please let this Ramadan turn you around and give you a breakthrough from the ordeals and obstacles in your way of life as Muslims.
Oh Allah! We implore your extended mercy that will forgive our sins and erase our misdeeds and errors. Oh Allah Forgive all our sins hidden and open, big and small. Oh Allah forgive all our dead love ones, our parents living and dead. Oh Allah preserve our teachers those that dead and those that are living make them a great guide for us to Aljannah and not a distractor. Oh Allah me and the Muslim Ummah..Amin
Alahumma infa`ni bima `allamtani wa `allamni ma yanfa`uni! (OH ALLAH! Make useful for me what You taught me and teach me knowledge that will be useful to me!)
May Allah continue to Guide and Guard us aright.Amin
“Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded". (6:90) May Allah bless us to serve him in all aspects of our lives.
