Flee to Allah for forgiveness

Bismillahi Rahman Roheem.

All Praise is for Allah. We adore Him and seek His help and forgiveness. We have Faith and Trust in Him. We seek Allah’s refuge against evil tendencies of our Selves and our bad deeds.

He whom Allah guides no one can lead him astray. And he whom Allah lets go astray there is none to guide him. We bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, the One and without any Partner; and we also bear witness that Muhammad (SAW) is His servant and Messenger. Allah had sent him with Truth, to give good tidings and to warn before the Doomsday. Whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger will be successful and well guided.

And whosoever disobeys either of them has gone astray. Such a person harms none save himself; he does no harm to Allah. The best Word is the Book of Allah. And the best Guidance is that given by Muhammad (SAW). Good things are the firm (original) ones, and Bad things are those introduced later on. And everything introduced later (in religion) is innovation. And every innovation is Hell fire.

Now then, I seek Allah’s refuge against Satan the outcast. I start in the name of Allah, most Gracious, and most Merciful.
Allah, in His Glorious Book, says:

"O Believers, when a call is given for Friday prayers then hurry up for Allah’s remembrance, leaving aside all business. This is better for you if you knew it. Then, when the prayer is finished disperse in the land to seek Allah’s Favours (livelihood); and keep on remembering Allah frequently so that you may succeed. When these people see a trade opportunity or a sportive event they walk towards it, leaving you (Prophet) standing alone. Tell them that what (reward) is with Allah is better than sport or trade, and Allah is the best Provider of livelihood". Q 62:9-11

Allah (SWT) says “And when we bestow Our Grace on man (the disbelievers), he turns away and becomes arrogant. And when evil touches him, he is in great despair. Say! (Oh Muhammad) Everyone does according to his way or intentions, and your Lord knows best of him whose path is right.” Q17:83-84.

Indeed whenever we receive a gift from our loved ones we show gratitude, express warmth feelings and being delighted. And being blessed with an Immense Mercy from Allah, The Exalted in life, making us Muslims yet we fail to acknowledge the fact that those who choose to disobey Allah also could have being Muslims, those who don’t like going to Masjid could have been in the first row. Not only do we become miser in our due gratitude to Allah but also attached our test and trials to other being and fall in despair.

A person will face two situations in life (Easy & Difficult times) without facing these two, we cannot say he/she has faith or he/she is contented with Allah’s favour.

A person who does not believe during the time of difficulty and ease is yet to understand Allah. We should be grateful to Allah in this month and share among ourselves His Mercy upon us.

“And your Lord is Rich (free of all wants), full of Mercy, if He Will, He can destroy you, and in your place make whom He wills as your successors, as He raised you from the seed of other people” Q6:133

A man’s life is an Excellence of Creation, out of many Souls Allah creates; you have been placed at this very superior level. With each breathe you take you are blessed with a newer life by Allah’s will everyday. You are saved, protected and succeeded to live more and do more. So if you own a beating Heart full of life, Glorify Him and repent as much as you can remember.

One day, Malik bin Dinar (rahimahullaah) was passing by a place when he noticed a young man wearing old clothes and crying by the roadside. His name was Ut`bah. Sweat was dripping down his body even though the temperature was very cold at that time. Malik bin Dinar became very surprised at this scene and asked Ut`bah, "Oh young man, why are you crying? And why are you sweating during this cold temperature?"

Ut`bah replied, "Once, I committed a sin at this place. Today, as I was passing by this place, I remembered that sin."

Look how pious were the early Muslims. Today, we are committing thousands of sins, yet, we are walking around with happiness and joy as if we have nothing to worry about.

Each Dawn faces dusk and every Sunrise leads to Sunset, so we should continue to thank Allah with moments to live and ask forgiveness from HIM because we are fortunate to make corrections.

“And march forth in the way (which leads to) forgiveness from your Lord and for Paradise as wide as are the Heavens and Earth, prepared for the Pious” Q3:133

The easiest way to be a pious person is mentioned in the next verse:

“Those who spend (in Allah’s cause, give charity, etc) who repress anger and who pardon men; verily Allah loves the Good-doers.” Q3:134.

Repel the Evil with Good:

"... and (those who) repel the evil with good." Q13:22

What we can learn from this verse are:

i. Whatever evil people have done, or whatever sin they have committed, they repel (its effect) immediately by repentance.

ii. Whatever evil they have done, they immediately do a good deed in atonement for it.

iii. They repel the evil done to them by doing good to those who did evil to them.

iv. "When they are deprived (of anything), they give; and when they are wronged, they forgive."

The most distinctive feature of a soul overflowing with faith is to love all types of love that are expressed in deeds, and to feel enmity for all deeds in which enmity is expressed. To hate everything is a sign of insanity or of infatuation with Satan.

Accept how God treats you. Make it the measure by which you treat others, so that you may represent the truth among them, and be free from the fear of loneliness in either world.

There are some clues you can use during this Ramadan to attain more rewards:

1. Eat, drink and be moderate

Almost all of us do it - once Iftar time hits, we just keep plowing food and drink into our mouths till it's hard to move afterwards. And those of us who do it know this is totally contrary to the spirit of Ramadan, through which we're supposed to learn self-control not self-indulgence. Let's try to stick to the Prophetic rule on eating: fill our stomachs with one-third food, one-third water and one-third breathing space, even in Ramadan.

2. Give a dollar a day in charity...or five or ten

The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, was always generous but even more so in Ramadan. Let's open our hearts and dig a little deeper in our wallets this year. Even less than a dollar a day adds up. Whatever you can give, it's the intention that counts.

3. Try to Pray Tarawih in congregation

Post-Iftar, the first urge is to sleep after an exhausting day. But try your best to head out to the mosque for Tarawih prayers. Praying alone is wonderful, but doing it in congregation is fantastic. The community spirit is part of Ramadan's blessings. Don't miss it this year. If going every day is not possible, try going at least one week.

4. Go on a technology diet

Even if you work in the IT industry, you can do this. Avoid checking personal email and surfing the web during your fast. After Iftar, instead of plopping yourself in front of the screen, go to Tarawih. The same goes for the television. The point is to try to give our full attention to spiritual elevation this month.

5. Read at least 5 minutes of Quran a day...or more, not less

Even if you feel you've got absolutely no time, set a timer or the alarm on your cell phone and find a relatively quiet place. You can read the first page of the Quran you open or follow a sequence. The choice is yours. The point is simply to connect with God through His revelation in the month of the Quran.

6. Forgive everyone who has hurt you

Still got a festering wound from the fight with your friend last year? Still upset about something your spouse said during a heated argument? Or are you still bitter about the way your parents sometimes treated you as a kid? Let go of the anger and pain this Ramadan and forgive those who have hurt you. Forgiving someone is not only good for the body, but it's also great for the soul. And in Ramadan, ten days of which are devoted to Allah's forgiveness, shouldn't we lesser beings forgive too? If you find it very difficult to forgive everyone, forgive at least three people.

Finally Allah says:

"There is no good in most of their secret talks, except in him who commands charity, enjoins good and brings about conciliation among mankind." Q4:114.

These are the three pillars to a healthy social life - charity, goodness and peace.
Unless people demonstrate sympathy for others in the form of giving charity and sacrificing their selfish interests, they cannot have good social relations. Without charity, mutual love is all dried up. Charity does not always mean giving money.

Talking gently to someone and sharing their joys and sorrows also constitute charity. Cleaning the road of obstacles represents its spirit as well. The Quran employs a comprehensive term, charity, of which there are numerous forms. What is important is a feeling of sympathy, goodwill, sincerity and helpfulness. Without such noble feelings, no healthy social life is possible.

Another equally significant Quranic concept is that of enjoining good. This stands for promoting something which is instinctively acceptable for all decent human beings.

The other Quranic directive is of bringing about reconciliation among people. Cordial social relations are the key to happiness. Today these values are neglected. Divisive forces are dominant everywhere.

Derision, ridiculing people, making jest at their expense, mocking them is a form of ignorance, whether it is lampooning, caricaturing, or name calling. Humour and levity are important in human life. But levity as a way of life harms the spiritual heart. And laughter and amusement at the expense of the dignity of others is wholly inappropriate.

Ali ibn Abi Talib (R.A) said, "Do not belittle anyone, for he may be a saint of God." Imam al-Qurtubi once said, "When he was bowing down to idols in Makah, Umar ibn al-Khattab was still beloved to God." Only God knows the seal of people and their destinies. A Moroccan proverb says, "Never mock any creature of God, for it might be beloved to He who created it."

A Muslim's earthly pursuits are counted as acts of worship and jihad, so long as such is his intention and he carries out the pursuit excellently and faithfully, with full remembrance of Allah.

Excellence in performance is a religious duty upon the Muslim, as the Prophet (SAW) said: "Verily Allah has enjoined excellent performance upon everything." [Muslim]

In another hadith reported by Al-Baihaqi, Abu Ya'ala and Ibn Asakir form Aisha, the Prophet said: "Verily Allah loves if one of you performs a deed that he should perfect it."

Oh Allah! We implore your extended mercy that will forgive our sins and erase our misdeeds and errors. Oh Allah Forgive all our sins hidden and open, big and small. Oh Allah forgives all our dead love ones, our parents living and dead. Oh Allah preserve our teachers those that dead and those that are living make them a great guide for us to Aljannah and not a distractor. Oh Allah me and the Muslim Ummah. Amin

Alahumma infa`ni bima `allamtani wa `allamni ma yanfa`uni! (OH ALLAH! Make useful for me what You taught me and teach me knowledge that will be useful to me!)
May Allah continue to Guide and Guard us aright.Amin

“Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded". (6:90) May Allah bless us to serve him in all aspects of our lives.

Wa Salaam Alaikum Waramotullahi Wabarakatuhu

Allahu Mustahan
